Jonathan King is a Leadership Coach who helps Leaders grow their businesses by growing their leadership. Whether he is working with brand new leaders, experienced executives, solo-entrepreneurs, or leadership teams, he is committed to helping each client leverage their strengths and overcome their barriers so they can experience the joy of leadership.
Jonathan holds a Master’s degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University’s Ken Blanchard School of Business. He taught Ethics and Organizational Leadership as an adjunct professor at Northern Arizona University for 6 years before focusing on his leadership within healthcare. Prior to these leadership experiences he was a pastor in large and mid-size churches for 12 years. He received his Associate Coach Certification from the International Coaching Federation in 2016. When he is not coaching leaders, he is enjoying his life with his wife and children.
These days, it seems like everyone’s a “coach,” and it’s easy to get confused. But Professional Coaching isn’t a training program that tells you what to do. It’s a skill set and methodology that brings out your awareness, values, convictions, solutions, and even the barriers holding you back. It’s based on the belief that people are unique and are the experts of their own lives. A Professional Coach partners with you to create awareness and a pathway for change.
It’s easy for anyone to say, “If I were you, I’d…,” but if you just want advice, you can call a trusted friend. A Professional Coach’s job is to help you discover the solution you’re committed to making a reality. After all, are you more likely to execute someone else’s plan or your own? The answer’s pretty clear—it’s your plan.
From my experience, leaders often need both a Professional Coach and, at times, a Consultant. A Consultant is an expert in a specific field. When I work with clients and realize they’re unfamiliar with a leadership or organizational concept, I’ll ask if they’d like to learn about it. If they do, I put on my Consultant hat, explain the concept, and then switch back to Coaching. After sharing, I’ll ask, “What do you want to do with this information?” The decision always comes back to you. I’ve found that leaders grow best when they have both coaching and consulting in their leadership, team, and culture development. That’s how they can truly grow their business—by growing their leadership.
1-on-1 Coaching: There are several options. Zoom and phone work well for most clients in 1-on-1 coaching. If you're in Yavapai County, Arizona, in-person sessions are available.
For Group Coaching/Training, in-person sessions are ideal and can be arranged anywhere in the United States. Travel expenses and additional time will be added to the standard rates. While trainings can be offered via Zoom, if your team needs coaching, collaboration, or strategic planning, in-person sessions are required.
